[obliviousally]: I don't see why the fandom has to make words 'their own'. There's already perfectly good words to use without messing them up.
[ambersdarkfox]: it is a way to kinda make em feel special like they are doing something things they can use with each other and thats what they do need even tho it sounds silly most furries have it hard enough I say let them enjoy thereselfs I find two commen questions that plauge most furry tho

[obliviousally]: ...but it's just a fandom. Not a lifestyle. Barely even a culture. It's just a bunch of people who like animal-people. Why would they need made up words to get along with each other.

[obliviousally]: And I've never had someone, anyone, act like I had the plauge when explaining the fandom.
[obliviousally]: If you ask me, people are too sensitive and overreact.
[ambersdarkfox]: because it may not be to you but to to thousands it is a lifestyle their freinds and may not be a outright culture but it is their lifes
[obliviousally]: But it's /just a fandom/. Honestly, furries take things way too seriously. I think they all need to get out and meet new people with varying hobbies
and interests.

[obliviousally]: I find that a little sad. There's other, better things these people could be doing than sitting around and looking at pictures of anthropormophic animals all day long. Like, I don't know, helping other people out in the real world.

[ambersdarkfox]: and this online thing sometimes leads to other things not online
[obliviousally]: I really think there's better things to do with ones time, to be honest.
[ambersdarkfox]: sometimes you can just be there for another when they really need it and can do so online what is more important that being there for your freinds
[ambersdarkfox]: the fandom is about more then pics it is also can be just a group of freinds who happen to be furry
[ambersdarkfox]: I have seen the fandom be great things for others
[ambersdarkfox]: I have seen it give a life to others when they had no one that got them till the fandom
[obliviousally]: I don't know, I've been in the fnadom far too long to really see all the bright and shiny things innocent and uninformed noobs see, apparently.
[ambersdarkfox]: I even know a fur who actualy cryed when he found the fandom and found others like him and he found some measure of acceptance

[obliviousally]: I never said one should 'grow out' of their friends. I have many friends within the fandom, but the fandom isn't all dasies and roses to me like it once was. I've found greener, saner pastures elsewhere.

[ambersdarkfox]: at least you can find some that care within the fandom and being in the fandom isn't hideing the fandom has stuff outside the net in the real world and as far as I go I would rather have my freinds who yes happen to be furry then anyone else out among the world
[obliviousally]: I would rather hang out with my friends who make fun of furries than hang out with murry-purry lifestyler furries.
[obliviousally]: And most of those friends ARE furries. Who are sick of the over-acceptance and idiocy they see in the fandom.

[obliviousally]: Nope. I have no bitterness towards the fandom.
[obliviousally]: I didn't give up on the 'good' of it. I have my friends I found in the fandom. And I have my art.
[obliviousally]: But no one takes furry art seriously in the real world and all my fandom friends have lives outside of the internet and the fandom.
[ambersdarkfox]: you shouldn't care what others think it is better to have someone you can trust to take you seriously then some stranger off the streat and yes I also have a life

[obliviousally]: I don't think you understand what I'm saying. I don't NEED the fandom for anything. It is a passing interest and a hobby. It gives me something to occupy free time with, but that's all. I don't need the approval of people here and I don't need the approval of people in the real world. The fandom is nothing more to me than a fandom. People who take it seriously need to get their priorities in order.
